Is Rainbo Village homes trying to tell us something?

Rainbo VillageIf rainbows are symbols of the celebration of diversity, and that YMCA song was sung by the Village People, who exactly is the target buyer for the condo and townhouse development, Rainbo Village, at 4836 N Clark St? The developer claims the marketing effort is less about lifestyle and more about history. Named after the Rainbo Gardens, which occupied the space at the end of World War I, this space has also played host to a speakeasy, pleasure garden, rock venue and roller rink.

Rainbo Village boasts 24 floor plans, from “ranch flats” (yeah, we’re not sure either) to three-story townhomes, and a variety of simplex and duplex condo floor plans. Of course, if the hint of diversity is a draw, the location should be a real plus: within walking distance of Andersonville, a short bus ride to Boystown, and just to the left of a patch of Uptown that is said to be home to a growing gay community.
