It's easy to be green at Emerald

Click for larger imageNo, this isn’t that awkward moment at a party where you realize that you’re wearing the same dress as not just one, but two other women. These models were the main attraction at the grand opening of sales for Emerald, 123 S Green St, a new West Loop high-rise (click on the picture for a larger image – go on, you know you can’t resist). The model of the actual development, designed by Pappageorge / Haymes, got almost as much attention at last night’s party. Emerald consists of two 12-story towers of 212 units, with a soaring two-story atrium.
The green theme was inspired by the project’s address and also by the development team’s decision to use environmentally-friendly materials in the construction and finishes of the buildings.

The development will have unobstructed skyline views in at least one direction, as a neighboring Walgreens has signed a 99-year lease. The developers are Harlem Irving Companies, New Frontier Companies and Senco Companies. First occupancy is slated for some time in 2008. Oh, and for those of you who clicked on the larger image up at the first photo, note that we didn’t say what the larger image was going to be of. Hope you weren’t disappointed.
