Downtown homes will sell when price cuts reach the 20-percent mark, and that’s exactly what the South Campus Development Team will be banking on three weeks from now.

Starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, the Ivy Hall at University Village developer will cut prices on the last seven townhomes by as much as $236,000, or 30 percent. The first buyer who signs for a home will get the 30-percent discount, and the following six will receive cuts of 27, 24, 21, 19, 17, and 15 percent, according to the Ivy Hall Web site.

The seven unsold homes, all located in the 700 block of West 15th Street, include:

  • Three three-bedroom / 3.5-baths with 2,338 to 2,903 square feet, priced from the $640s to $770s
  • One two-bedroom / 3.5-bath with 3,001 square feet, priced in the $690s
  • One two-bedroom / two-bath with two half-baths and 2,319 square feet, priced in the $780s
  • Two two-bedroom / 2.5-bath with 2149 square feet, priced in the $540s

Every unit has been finished with granite countertops, 42-inch maple cabinets, GE stainless-steel appliances, and hardwood floors.

The Ivy Hall phase of University Village comprised 36 single-family homes and 27 townhomes bounded by Union Avenue and Liberty, Halsted, and Depot streets.
