Lincoln Park lofts "a la carte" at TRU

There may not be a caviar staircase on the menu, but LG Development Group is offering buyers at its TRU Lofts, a converted health club at 2525 N Sheffield Ave, the option of buying a loft raw or ordering “a la carte” from a menu of finishes and upgrades. Kitchen and bathroom selections include different cabinet colors and styles, countertops, flooring, appliances, plumbing fixtures and hardware. For a price, buyers can also add laundry hookups, floor stains, paints, French doors, a cedar deck, a plasma television and even increased head-room at stairways.
Floor plans (what they call “unit personalities”) for each of the 28 units show stairs or ladders leading up to lofted bedrooms or additional living space. The lofts have 800 to 1,858 square feet of total space with concrete ceilings, exposed brick and metal beams. Some units have terraces and wood-burning fireplaces.

Prices start in the $300s, and it looks like basic kitchen and bathroom packages at TRU run about $20,000 and $10,000, respectively (which, incidentally, is also what one may expect to fork over for dinner and drinks at the restaurant TRU).
