Wicker Park Apartments has obtained an $8.175M construction loan for a 40-unit “soft loft” apartment building near Wicker Park in Noble Square.
Developer Mark Sutherland reports that construction will begin at Wicker Park Lofts, 1515 W Haddon, as soon as this week and occupancy will be available late next summer.
The location is a short walk from the Blue Line stop at Division and the attractive boutique / bar / restaurant scene west of Ashland on Division.
The development will have a mix of studio to 3-bedroom apartments.
Rents are estimated to begin at $1,400 for studios, $1,800 for 1-bedrooms, $2,300 for 2-bedroom, 1-baths, $2,800 for 2-bedroom, 2-baths and $3,200 for 3-bedroom, 2-baths.
The majority of the units will be studios and 1-bedrooms, which are currently scarce in Wicker Park.
