Noble Square condo building is a survivor

We were out and about in the Noble Square neighborhood under yesterday’s hot sun, snapping some pictures of the vintage gut rehab at 1500 W Ohio St, when one of the developers, Stuart Shiner of SDS Development, started chatting us up. According to Shiner, the building survived the Great Chicago Fire of 1871.

SDS gutted the building and restored the vintage facade. It now houses 15 simplex and duplex condos with one to three bedrooms, and the view from the 2,400-square-foot roof deck must be quite a bit different than it was in 1871. Prices range from the $260s to the $570s, and only six units remain unsold.
