Quote of the day: Evanston condo market creates more alternatives for some buyers

“It’s giving the empty nester more choices, and that’s always good for the consumer. It’s almost a 24-hour environment, although the clubs and restaurants are usually shut down by 12 or 2, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, either. You can live an urban style and not be exposed to the population and the traffic that exists in Chicago.”

Garry Benson, founder of Garrison Partners Consulting, on the appeal of Evanston.

Benson’s firm is marketing an 18-story, 165-unit tower in downtown Evanston. The city – about 20 miles from the Loop – expects about 400 new units to hit the market between now and 2009, according to an article in today’s Trib.

In December, YoChicago conducted a series of video interviews with Garry and Christine Lutz from Garrison Partners. Check out our YouTube channel to see more.
