Remembering the early days of Bucktown

As a non-native resident of Bucktown, it’s hard to imagine a time when it wasn’t the home of boutiques, bikes, babies and Black Labs. Parts of the neighborhood were a tough go for developers a couple decades ago, but that didn’t deter Bill Senne from seeing its potential, taking some risks and having a long run of projects, the latest of which is EcoLogic Lofts, located at 2359 N Seeley Ave. In this video, he reminisces with Joe Zekas about the early days of Bucktown.

In case you missed it, Joe posted the first segment of his interview with Senne on Friday: a discussion about the increasingly prevalent moniker “West Bucktown.” Stay tuned for more videos from their chat.
