Sales update: Your last chance for The Chelsea

The Chelsea, 2921 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago

Buyers are running out of options at The Chelsea, one of the three or four condo projects that Stillpoint Development and Chicago Graystone Realty have erected along North Side thoroughfares in the past couple of years.

In case you mistake it for the similarly named, similarly designed Catalina, The Chelsea is the nine-unit red-brick building at 2921 – 2927 N Lincoln Ave in Lake View. Inside, Dave Salyers and Jim Miller of Jameson Real Estate are overseeing the sale of its last available condo, a third-floor three-bedroom / two-bath with 1,772 square feet.

Although Miller has listed the unit for $599,900, Salyers says the home is actually selling in the $560s; the inclusion of a parking space bumps it back up to the list price.

The listing describes the finished units as having walnut kitchen cabinets, Jenn-Air and Bosch stainless-steel appliances (including the ever-important wine cooler), granite countertops, stone backsplashes, white oak floors, stone bath finishes, whirlpool tubs, steam showers, and a radiant-heated master bath floor.

Early last year, Jeff Goulette of the architecture firm Sullivan Goulette and Wilson talked to New Homes about The Chelsea’s design:

“The layout gave us the ability to do a couple of different things… First, we could design the front façade with oversized balconies, allowing access from the large living areas to likewise-large outdoor spaces. We also took advantage of the irregularity of the footprint by ‘jigsawing’ the unit floor plans, interweaving and interconnecting them, so that no two units are truly alike.”

The Chelsea doesn’t have much use for a Web site at this point, so I guess you’ll have to hit up a Sunday open house or use your imagination to see that “jigsawing” in action. We never made it inside the building, but you can see Mark’s video with Salyers in another Stillpoint / Chicago Graystone project, Halsted Row, in the related post linked below.
