The United Center is on Madison Street, near what was once Chicago’s famed Skid Row.
Stretches of Madison Street west of the United Center can best be described as “Scud Row” since they look like they were hit by missiles. In fact, some parts were burned out during the riots following the death of Martin Luther King.
