Ok, I’ll admit it. It’s a gratuitous headline that had nothing to do with the post. In our search of our dream home we were interested to hear about the new Metra station planned for 35th Street near U.S. Cellular Field. The media went with the angle that it will be easier for (presumably suburban) Sox fans to get to the game, but surely that’s a weird spin on it. Half of the Sox fans are Johnny-come-latelys who only resumed their pilgrimage to U.S. Cellular Field last year when it became clear that the Sox had a great shot at a World Series victory.
What other pathways does this new Metra station open up? Will it increase housing values in Bridgeport? These and other burning questions.
