Starting with the same 14 ZIP codes we track in our rental listings spreadsheet, I pulled up the listings of all the studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-plus-bedroom homes to see how median prices stacked up zone-to-zone. Any surprises? I’ll let you be the judge. The median price for a one-bedroom in the South Loop is less than in most areas. Most units with three or more bedrooms in ZIP codes bordering the lake are priced above $1 million. And if you really want a studio in 60616, you won’t have to pay six figures.
