Is Chicago about to see a new wave of Irish moving into the city? According to Google Insights for Search, more searches for “Chicago apartments” are originating in the Emerald Isle than from any other foreign country, and by a significant margin, too (although obviously nowhere near the number of searches coming from the US).
The peak in Irish interest (at least in the time Google has reported such things) came in May 2008. There was another spike in interest in May 2009, and then a drop-off until spring 2010. Searches dropped off once more in the second half of last year, but began climbing in January.
