The state and fate of Chicago's 'hoods

Yesterday afternoon, LISC/Chicago hosted a panel discussion among four economic development practitioners and policymakers — World Sport Chicago Executive Director Scott Myers, Alderman and Cook County Board President nominee Toni Preckwinkle, Resurrection Project CEO Raul Raymundo, and RW Ventures President Robert Weissbourd — focusing on the future of neighborhood development in Chicago.

Following an introduction by moderator Greg Hinz, Weissbourd, who analyzes urban markets and economic development at his firm and with the Brookings Institution, offered some opening thoughts on the state and fate of Chicago’s neighborhoods and the Chicago metro economy as a whole.
