After yesterday’s posts about the demise of the 3 Penny Cinema and the Nortown Theater, we hate to add more speculative fuel to the history-turned-condos fire, but we just learned that The Three Arts Club is scrapping plans to renovate its historic residence for women artists at 1300 N Dearborn Pkwy. The Three Arts Club will be sold, according to an article in Crain’s Chicago Business. As a landmark, the building is safe from demolition, though we could easily imagine the dramatic Byzantine design by Holabird & Roche housing condos, especially on this premium Gold Coast block.
