Ravenswood tour starts with a Perfect Cup

Posted 9/7/2007 by Barry Pearce

Ravenswood's stretch of Damen Avenue has been something of a neighborhood sleeper, located roughly equidistant from the much better known enclaves of Lincoln Square and Andersonville. But Damen also has seen a quiet, gradual resurgence as residential real estate on the surrounding blocks has taken off.

Join YoChicago's Joe Zekas as he kicks off a Ravenswood tour with Chicago Home Estates sales agent Eric Rojas at The Perfect Cup, the neighborhood's best coffee shop (full disclosure: I buy my coffee there daily).

The staff that works there is always uniformly decent - cheerful place, and the coffee cups are humongous.

What's really interesting about Damen Ave. is the stretch from Lawrence to Balmoral. There are some really nice little restaurants and bars, beauty and barber shops with excellent services at affordable prices, and a handful of antique and collectible shops with some really good "finds." One of the great "hidden treasure" neighborhoods.

Local Realtor… hold your horses for "Part 2". We spend a good amount of time there… and it's my back yard. See you at Gio's.
