Video vault: The future of I-GO Car Sharing

I-GO Car Sharing and CTA have rolled out their new “smart card” program, which allows I-GO participants to use one Chicago Card Plus card for both the city’s transit system and I-GO’s fleet of hybrids and fuel-efficient vehicles parked around the city. I figured that was a good excuse to dust off Patrick’s interview with I-GO Business Development Manager Richard Kosmacher from last January.

I-GO has cars at nine ‘L’ stops including the Blue Line’s Damen / Milwaukee station, the Brown Line’s Western station, the Red Line’s Addison and Thorndale stations, and at the intersection Lincoln and Wrightwood avenues, in-between the Fullerton and Diversey stops on the combined Red, Brown and Purple lines in Wrightwood Neighbors. (I haven’t tracked down the locations of the other five stops.)

Off the top of my head, I can only name a couple of new residential developments working with I-GO: Magellan Development‘s Lakeshore East – whose participation prompted Patrick’s interview with Kosmacher – and Senco Properties’ EcoLogic Lofts, which has not broken ground. (Others out there have opted for Zipcar spaces.) I’ve started a list of I-GO participants on NewHomeNotebook.com and will add developments to it as we learn of them. If you can think of any, let us know.
