TRU Lofts – and not a lycra thong in sight

Aaaah. Isn’t that nice? Hard to believe that this room has probably seen more than its share of wobbly flesh barely contained by electric-blue thong-leotards. This is TRU Lofts, 2525 N Sheffield Ave, an example of a development where the units are modeled with the right kind of furniture for the aesthetic of the building, unlike what we saw in the models for One Museum Park (west tower).

The Lincoln Park project, by LG Development Group, is a former rental building and back in the eighties it was a health club, hence the leotard reference. Homes are available upgraded with all kinds of industrial-chic finishes or “as is.” This duplex penthouse unit is currently in “as is” condition – note the eighties kitchen after the jump. And we’ve seen concrete ceilings and timber rafters, but not too many metal ceilings like the one after the jump. Units are priced from the $260s to the $450s. The nearby el tracks are noisy as hell, so hopefully sound attentuation comes standard.
