When Joe and I visited Bronzeville’s historic Calumet / Giles / Prairie District a few weeks ago, we stopped by the Signature Residences at 207 E 31st St to see if construction had wrapped up. The brief visit was pretty inconclusive — it looked like there was still a bit of work to be done before buyers could start moving in, but there’s only so much you can tell from the street.
Yesterday, I reached sales manager Anita Mark on the phone, and she gave me the lowdown on the 36-unit development. According to Mark, several buyers are scheduled to close on their homes this month, and construction on the building will be completely finished by the end of August.
Nineteen of the 36 homes in the five-story building are currently under contract, and the price breakdown of the available condos goes like this: one-bedroom / one-baths are priced from the $150s to the $160s, two-bedrooms are priced from the $280s to the $390s and three-bedrooms are priced from the $280s to the $380s.
Mark says all of the homes should be ready for delivery within 30 days. As a buyer incentive, the developer is currently offering a $16,000 discount to two- and three-bedroom buyers, and for one-bedroom buyers they’ll throw in an outdoor parking space valued at $7,500.
