Hey students and bookworms: Need a place next to the Harold Washington Library ASAP? Lennar‘s Library Tower, located 520 S State St in the Loop, should be complete by the time we ring in the new year, says sales consultant Andrew Baasen. Crews are putting the finishing touches on the top floor (home to many of the tower’s amenities and common areas) this week and will be out of the building before the end of the month, he says.
Thirty-seven of Library Tower’s 184 condos have already closed, and another 64 or so are under contract, says Baasen. The remaining homes are a mix of one-bedrooms priced from the $250s to the $350s, two-bedrooms priced from the $340s to the $530s, and three-bedrooms priced from the $560s to the $880s. Lennar recently cut the price of parking in half, from $40,000 to $20,000 per space, and is open to negotiating other incentives on a case-by-case basis, Baasen says.
It may be sitting on a half-sold building, but Lennar to this point has announced no plans to lease any of Library Tower’s condos. Nevertheless, four two-bedrooms and two three-bedrooms in the building are already available for rent, according to the MLS.
