It’s about a year behind schedule, but El Pacifico, D’Aprile Realty‘s six-unit condo development at 1358 W Belmont Ave in Lake View appears to be moving forward. Sheila Burt wrote about this development for Yo in the summer of 2007, and back then she reported that the development was called “El Pacifico” because it was going to be built on a site that had previously housed a Mexican restaurant that went by the same name.
Although the restaurant was demolished to make way for the condo development, it was supposed to reopen in the ground-floor retail space of the new building. I haven’t been able to reach anyone at D’Aprile Realty to find out if the restaurant is still slated to occupy the retail space.
According to our previous posts and the D’Aprile Web site, this building will have six two- to three-bedroom condos with 1,162 to 1,500 square feet of living space. Last year, these units were priced from the mid-$500s, but the D’Aprile site now says they start in the $450s. I also found a 1,454 square-foot three-bedroom / two-bath condo listed on the MLS for $500,000 with garage parking included.
