Earlier this week I posted a quote from the latest Appraisal Research Counselors Downtown Benchmark Report about the stiff competition new South Loop apartments face from condo rentals. This morning, using Coldwell Banker’s website, I pulled together the price range for units for rent in the South Loop’s newer condo buildings (places that were still marketing developer units for sale in 2009, according to our New Chicago High-rise Guide). Review that list at Google Docs, and compare the numbers there to the rents advertised in the neighborhood’s dedicated rental towers.
