The Grande on Southport bringing 2,000 to 3,500 square-foot homes to Lake View

The banner on the front of this building at 3214 N Southport Ave caught my eye earlier in the week. Had I been a bit further south, I might have mistaken this building for The 723 on Diversey Parkway. With the solid masonry and big brick balconies that face the street, The Grande on Southport has the same look as many brick six-flats that are cropping up around Lake View, but Dennis Huyck from @properties says it differentiates itself because its homes are so large.

“It’s going to definitely feel like a single-family living,” Huyck says of the six three- and four-bedroom homes. The lower level will have two 3,500 square-foot duplex-downs with four bedrooms and 3.5 baths, the second floor will have two single-floor three-bed / two-bath units with 2,000 square feet of living space, and the top floor will have two 3,500 square-foot duplex-ups.

None of the condos are on the MLS yet, and Huyck says he will probably refrain from listing them until sometime in January. The homes haven’t been drywalled yet, he says, but deliveries are scheduled for March.

One of the single-floor units has sold, so there are still five available homes in the building. Exact prices haven’t been set, but Huyck says the single-floor unit will probably be priced in the $750s, and the duplexes will sell for about $1 million each.
