Would Tuxedo condos by any other name seem as sweet?

We’re always curious about what goes into naming a condo development (at least those without meadow or lake in the name) and even more curious when a seemingly random name gets etched above the doorway. Do new owners research the history the name? Do they make up a story to go along with their newly named home? If we lived at Tuxedo, 4440 N Dover St, in Uptown, we’d tell our friends that it was named for the shape of the building’s footprint, with the bays on both sides of the wide central entrance resembling a bowtie. No, it doesn’t make a ton of sense, but then, neither does etching Tuxedo above the doorway of an unassuming development of two-bedroom two-bathroom condos, priced from the $240s.
