New Homes explores Chicago loft market

Huron Street Lofts, 225 W Huron St
Since we’re feeling lofty on this Thursday at Yo, check out the recent New Homes Magazine story on Chicago’s loft market. Around two-dozen loft projects are underway, according to this piece, many of them new kids on the block. Current developments range from the seven-unit boutique at 2105 W Concord Place, in Bucktown, to the massive 824-unit University Commons conversion, near the University of Illinois at Chicago campus. It ain’t quite the late ’90s, when everything and its brother was a loft, but there’s a fair amount of new product out there, if you’re willing to look.
