Sales and construction update: 50 East Chestnut

Sales have reached the 40 percent mark at 50 East Chestnut, according to Steve Mandell of Jameson Development, LLC. The 39-story building at Rush and Chestnut streets, designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz, has 34 full-floor condos with dens and three bedrooms. Remaining units range from about $2.7 million to $3.6 million and from 3,579 to 3,904 square feet.

When we last stopped by the building in early April, 50 East Chestnut was nearly topped out. Jameson now reports that James McHugh Construction Co. has finished pouring the concrete for the roof walls, windows have been installed up to the 29th floor and the stairs have been completed up to the roof. The building is slated for completion in spring 2008, and first occupancy is planned for this fall, according to Mandell.
