Workers have installed some cedar paneling to the exterior of the Studio Dwell-designed building at 1919 W Crystal St since mid-December, and will start to install drywall in some of the homes within the next week or two, says Koenig & Strey agent Sam Tarara.

Construction is proceeding as planned, but sales are moving in the opposite direction. About half of the homes were under contract last June, when @properties was marketing the development. Koenig & Strey has taken over sales and marketing since then, and Tarara says that just one condo in the nine-unit development has sold.

Tarara says the same thing that we’re hearing from everyone these days: People want to walk through a space before they consider buying. “You have to get boots on the ground,” he says. Prospective buyers will be able to look at the unfinished homes in person in a matter of weeks, after crews have finished the drywall installation.

Prices start in the $650s for a 1,725 square-foot two-bedroom / two-bath and reach into the $770s for a 2,300 square-foot three-bedroom. All of the homes in 1919 West Crystal are duplexes with 150 to 200 square feet of outdoor space, Tarara says.
