Abbot Labs bought the home of company founder, Dr. Wallace Abbott, at 4605 N Hermitage Ave, in Ravenswood, for $1.5 million in 2004. The company considered a variety of uses for the massive Victorian house but as far as we can tell (we live just a block away), nothing ever was done with it. According to a report in Inside newspaper, Abbott is now preparing the house for sale, though it has not yet listed the property with an agent. The 15-room house, which has seven bathrooms, a huge wrap-around porch and a coach house that would make a nice single-family is almost too grand for a residential buyer.
