Comment of the day: take that, investor buyers

Our post on the effect of the cooling market on investor buyers inspired this rant from schadenfreude sister:

“I suppose it’s not very nice, but frankly I’m kind of glad to see that these ‘flippers’ are getting their just deserts. You see, I thought that the point of all this new-home construction in the near-downtown neighborhoods was to create new, stable communities of singles who would become young marrieds who would become parents, etc …and become the market for commerce, new schools,etc. in these areas. Now that the real estate market has slowed, many of these homeowners are going to have to -horrors- stay put and maybe learn what real city living is supposed to be about.”
